A youth shot dead the mother of a woman living in a consensual relationship in central Delhi’s Deshbandhu Gupta Road area over a dispute over kicking a dog. The victim, Kanchan (40), was admitted to the nearby Lady Hardinge Hospital after being shot in the shoulder, where her condition remains stable. The accused absconded after the incident.

During investigation, the police came to know that Kanchan’s daughter Chanchal was living in a consensual relationship with her lover Alok alias Prince. When there was a fight between the two on Friday, Kanchan reached for reconciliation. According to the police, Alok is a declared criminal of Aman Vihar police station.

Central District Deputy Commissioner of Police Sanjay Kumar Sen said that at around 6.00 pm on Friday evening, Deshbandhu Gupta Road Police Station Siddhipura received a call about a woman being shot. After getting the news, the police team reached Dhobi Wali Gali, Gaushala Road. There the police found Kanchan in an injured condition.

Immediately he was sent to the hospital. Kanchan’s daughter Chanchal (22) told that her mother lives in Minto Road area. She herself is living here on Gaushala Road with her lover Alok. For the last few days there was some dispute between the two. Chanchal has got a dog. Alok didn’t like that.

On Thursday, there was a dispute between the two over something. At that time the matter was settled. On Friday both started fighting once again. Enraged, Alok kicks Chanchal’s dog. More talk increased between the two on this matter. Chanchal called her mother Kanchan home. In the evening, the mother was making peace between the two.
